Stand and Wait on GOD! Jackie DuVall June 12, 2018 God’s plans for us are good. He wants to prosper us and He knows our future. He has thoughts and dreams about us, and they are for our good! Maybe you know He’s good and has good intentions for you but wonder why it’s taking so long for His promises to come to pass in your life. You feel like Abram and Sarai in Genesis 16 who, after waiting for God’s promise to come to pass for so long, tried to make God’s promise come to pass their way and in their timing. We know that didn’t work out so well for them! I know the waiting process is hard, and sometimes it can feel like God forgot about you, but His way and His timing is always so much better than ours!
It’s so easy to give into anxiety and fear when we don’t see God moving on our behalf and bringing the breakthrough He promised us. Sometimes we pray, declare, and etc. till we’re blue in the face and if God doesn’t answer, then we try to figure out how to get God’s promises to happen without God. But He never gives us a promise that can be accomplished without Him. He wants us to partner with Him to see the promises fulfilled. But there are times He just wants us to stand and wait on Him. There are several places in the Bible where God said to stand and wait for Him to move. One is Exodus 14:13-14. God promised the Children of Israel that He would take them out of slavery to a land of Promise. On the way there they come up to one of the many obstacles – the Red Sea. We all face obstacles on the road to our promise. God wants to know, “Do you trust Me to take care of you and fulfill the promise?” So in Exodus 14:13-14, Moses is responding to the Children of Israel who are scared because the Egyptians are pursuing them and in front of them is the Red Sea. They felt trapped and hopeless! Exodus 14:13-14 (NIV) says, “Moses answered the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.’” Then God told Moses to lift his staff and the sea parted. That same sea was what God used to get rid of the Egyptian army. What was once their obstacle became a weapon against the enemy! That’s my God! In 2 Chronicles 20, the Moabites and Ammonites came against Jehoshaphat. When Jehoshaphat heard they were coming, he inquired of the Lord and fasted. He stood up in the Temple and prayed with the men of Judah and their wives and children. Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon a man named Jahaziel. In 2 Chronicles 20:17 Jahaziel says, “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.” There are just two of the many times God was able to accomplish something that man would have deemed impossible or hopeless. What God promised you will happen. We must be in constant communion with Him so we know what He wants us to do to see that promise come to fruition. It can’t be accomplished apart from Him. Paul told the Church of Ephesus that when they’ve done all, STAND! Stand on God’s Word! Stand on God’s promises. Stand still and wait on Him. Wait on His timing. He knows the plans He has for you and He knows the best way and best timing for them to happen. Paul also says in 1 Corinthians 16:13 (NIV), “…stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” Remember, when you are feeling weak in the waiting period or in the fight, God’s grace is sufficient for you! Jamie Rohrbaugh June 8, 2018 One of the biggest sources of discouragement that plagues Christians today is that so many of us feel like orphans.
It doesn’t seem to matter whether you have actual parents or not. Orphanhood is a state of the heart; a feeling… and it’s not something you can talk yourself out of if you’re already in that state. But an orphan heart is something for which we can receive healing. I know. I spent many years feeling unloved; feeling that I didn’t belong anywhere or to anybody. I felt like I had no home. I was an orphan. It wasn’t my parents’ fault; they loved me. Orphanhood was simply the state of my heart, because I had not received God’s love deep down in my innermost heart yet. So I felt like an orphan. And because I felt like an orphan–belonging nowhere and to no one–I was hounded by fear. I would have frequent panic attacks when there was nothing going on outwardly of which to be afraid. I could feel something constricting my chest. I would desperately gasp for breath. I didn’t know what was causing these panic attacks at first, but I finally recognized them for what they were–fear. (Read more of that story about how God set me free from fear here and part 2, here.) Out of His mercy, one day as I was struggling with this, Papa God led me to read First John 4:18: Start-quoteThere is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” He showed me then that love is the antidote to fear. He is the only One who loves perfectly, so it is specifically His love that casts out fear. I began to meditate on God’s love (see the story in the link above) and, over time, God set me free from fear. He filled me with His perfect love and healed me completely. As I have continued to meditate on God’s love, He brought me into not only freedom from fear, but also into an understanding of how wildly He loves me. He has healed the orphan’s heart I carried, and has given me the secure heart of a beloved daughter. Note: My favorite resource ever about this subject is Healing the Orphan Spirit by Leif Hetland. Click here to check it out on Amazon for Kindle or paperback (affiliate link). God really advanced the healing of my heart when I read this book. Maybe you suffer from an orphan heart too. Maybe your heart longs to be healed. Maybe you long for a place to belong. Maybe you’ve been hounded by fear also. Maybe you feel empty and lonely, even when there are plenty of people around. Maybe you long to know and be known, to love and be loved. Maybe your heart’s desire is to have a Father and a home. If that’s you, my heart goes out to you. I know how you feel. But there is hope, and there is healing. Your healing will begin when you begin to meditate on this: God LOVES you. He’s a big Papa with a big heart, and that heart beats for you. I know it can be hard to start to feel like God loves you. But He does. Leif Hetland says: “If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it. If God had a tree, He’d carve your name on it. You are His happy thought!” And it’s true. Think of His love as stretching even farther than that. Papa God loves you so much that… If God had a nightstand, your photo would be on it. If God had some spray paint, He’d go to a wall and draw hearts all over it with “PAPA + YOUR NAME” written inside. If God had a wallet, your picture would be in it. If God had a mantel, your baby shoes would be bronzed and displayed on it. If God had a Christmas tree, He’d make an ornament with your picture and the year of your birth: “Baby’s first Christmas!” He keeps your love letters (your prayers) with Him in Heaven all the time. He’s spent so much time ruffling through your hair that He has counted every hair on your head. Your Papa loves you. His heart is full of you. He is thinking of you always. Everytime He thinks of you–which is constantly–He’s overjoyed at your existence. You are His dream. You are His pride and joy. Your Papa God loves you. He knew you in Heaven before you were conceived on earth. At just the right time, He threw you on the womb of your mother. He knit you together in your mother’s womb and planned the exact moment of your birth. He has been loving you and watching over you all your life. He has never looked away, not even once. God’s heart beats for you. I realize it may seem foreign and strange to think of yourself this way: as the apple of God’s eye. Nevertheless, that is what you are. Precious friend who feels like an orphan, you are not alone. I’ve been there. But I am not there anymore. And having come through that valley of the shadow of death, I can tell you this: You don’t always have to have an orphan heart. You can feel like the beloved son or daughter you are. Your heart can be healed. Pray this with me: “Papa God, I love You. I know You love me too, but I need Your help to feel like it. I need to “get it” down deep in my heart, deeper than I can go or reach. Papa, would You help me? Holy Spirit, please help me to receive Your love. Reveal Your love to me in ways I don’t even know how to ask for.” Then begin daily to meditate on God’s love. Use the list of examples I provided above to invoke your holy imagination: Imagine your Papa carving your name on His tree in Heaven. Imagine Him taking His wallet out and showing off your photo to Jesus in Heaven. Imagine Him longing for you as He draws a big heart on a wall of holy graffiti in Heaven, writing “Papa + YOU!” Meditate on God’s love. See it in your mind’s eye. Ponder on it. And God will begin to heal your heart. A Company of Deborahs Amber Picota June 5, 2018 I personally have always felt a connection with Deborah, in the Bible, from Judges 4. She was a prophetess, and a powerful leader of the people of Israel, during a time when they desperately needed Godly leadership.
Many would have us to believe that Deborah was only used by God during that time because God couldn’t find a Godly man to lead. I find that extremely hard to believe considering God has never had a problem using flawed humans to lead. Meet King David who was a murderer and raped Bathsheba. Meet Moses, and so many more men who had done terrible things and yet somehow God used them to lead. I don’t believe for one second that God used Deborah as a last resort. Deborah Was God's Woman for the Job Judges 4:4-9 Now Deborah, a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading Israel at that time. She held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided. She sent for Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali and said to him, “The Lord, the God of Israel, commands you: ‘Go, take with you ten thousand men of Naphtali and Zebulun and lead them up to Mount Tabor. I will lead Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his troops to the Kishon River and give him into your hands.’” Barak said to her, “If you go with me, I will go; but if you don’t go with me, I won’t go.” “Certainly I will go with you,” said Deborah. “But because of the course you are taking, the honor will not be yours, for the Lord will deliver Sisera into the hands of a woman.” The story goes on that they did indeed go into battle and they pursued Sisera, the general of Jabin’s army. Sisera fled away on foot and ended up at the tent of Jael (another amazing woman for us to talk about another day), who lured him into a false sense of security and then killed Sisera with a tent spike by driving it through his temple. Jael is the woman that the credit of victory went to, as prophesied by Deborah back in verse 9 of chapter 4 in Judges. So here’s the deal, there is a movement happening within the body of Christ right now where God is raising up a modern-day company of Deborahs. These will be women who lead with fairness and wisdom. They are women who call a spade a spade, are straight shooters, and don’t like to beat around the bush, but they know how to GET THE JOB DONE. Some of this women are/will be business owners, ministry founders, church planters, authors and even political leaders. They are trailblazers who are doing something new that’s never been done before. According to scripture, Israel lived in peace for 40 years under the leadership of Deborah. I believe that this is symbolic of something we’re experiencing even now. A company of Deborahs is rising up in the world right now, and our generation (40 years = a generation) will rest in peace with their leadership. God is not raising up women to lead because there are no good men, He is doing it because God has historically been using women to lead forever. A company of Deborah-type women are being called by God to arise in this hour. Do not mistake them for “Jezebel” by assuming women cannot be strong, powerful and ready to lead with authority. Make no mistake, they are God’s women for the job. They are not here to disempower men, but rather to link arms with them like Deborah linked arms with Barak in Judges 4 (I have a prophetic word about modern-day Baraks that I will be releasing soon), to rule and reign together as co-heirs in Christ Jesus. If you are one of these modern day Deborah women, I say this to you: Take heart, be encouraged and emboldened. Withstand the criticism, and step forward into what God has called you to do. You do not need the approval of man to do what God has called you to do. Do not wait around for their approval because you’ll never get it. You have been misunderstood, but remain at peace. Do not rise to your own defense. God is making a way for your gifting right now and each step you take is one into your calling as a Deborah for this hour. Trust God, don’t listen to the criticizers and clamor. Tune your ears into Heaven’s frequency. Don’t worry if people are intimidated by you. The right people are going to be aligned to work with you to establish what God has called you to establish within the earth. SHATTERED Dannette Garza June 1, 2018 “If your heart is broken like shattered glass and the losses left are far too great. If your tears are backed up like water reservoirs and the pain has left you shattered. My love will bloom to heal and transform the wreckage. I have sorrow and compassion for your sufferings. I cut the channels in the rocks, My eyes see every precious thing. I will comfort your ruins and transform your devastation into a glorious garden of love and laughter. I will rescue you from your troubles.
"Trust Me in the midst of all of the loss. Lean on My shoulder and come to My place of refuge. Stop and smell the roses, My love is healing your heart and making you stronger. Trust Me to do the impossible, the battle is Mine, not yours. Having lost it all, trust Me to rebuild you. Rest in My promises and give all of your worries and cares to Me, because I care for you. Let’s move forward beyond the pain that demands attention. I will give life to your dreams and I will call those things that do not exist as though they do. "There is a time for every purpose under heaven. Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning. I am drawing you closer to My heart through this moment of brokenness. I am collecting the pieces of shattered glass to create something lovely. The unlikely beauty from brokenness will take your breath away. "All losses are painful, but a joyful heart is good medicine. Learn to dance through the pain, let it all go and keep going. My Word will come to rescue you, trust Me to take care of you. You are surrounded by My lovingkindness and tender mercies. I am filling your life with good things and radical provision. Like a blowing hurricane, My unending love is revealing My faithfulness. "O afflicted one tossed with tempest and not comforted. I will transform the broken glass of your life into colorful gems. I will break open a shaft of treasures from the darkness of glimmering diamonds, sapphires, and gold dust. I will block up the streams from trickling and what is hidden, I will bring out to the light. The barren and empty places that survived the storm will be adorned with amazing beauty. "The pounding waves transformed the shattered glass into magnificent gems of the sea. Every single situation works toward your benefit. The delicate shards of broken glass tossed by the water have made you as strong as the seas are stormy. It’s the beginning of something beautiful. A strong person has often had a difficult past. Sometimes discovering who you truly are means knowing who you no longer want to be. "Say goodbye to the pain of the past, you don’t have to go through it anymore. I have prepared an inheritance for you because I honor those that I love. You will see Me manifest right before your eyes as My Word materializes out of the bleak darkness. Step into the new, beyond what was lost and past the flowers that faded away. Some things cannot be put back, but you can embrace the treasure of the memory. You will never be alone, so don’t be sad or lonely. Smile for what you had, lift up your chin to see the new thing coming. I will take your hand and show you the way to the land where losses become lovely. "You are positioned for the beautiful, with God all things are possible. If I am all that you have left, I am more than enough. All you need is hope to hold your soul and awaken your dreams again. When it is darkest, the splendor of My dawning promise is the nearest. From your weeping tears and storm-tossed afflictions, the shattered glass is coming up as roses of love in a forever bloom." Dannette Garza www.diamondsfromthedust.com Dannette is an author and prophetic writer, creating prophetic love letters through the romantic dance with King Jesus. In her love language with Holy Spirit, diamonds represent the glory of God through His intentional love and manifested words. God turns the dust of suffering into the beauty of glittering diamonds. The heart of this ministry is to search out the treasures of the Father’s heart and share them with those He has chosen. He makes all things beautiful in His time. Dannette is passionate about helping people birth the promises of God through supernatural hope and faith. She loves to encourage and intercede for others to reach their miraculous dreams, through the love of Jesus. With God, nothing shall be impossible!
